Having inherited his psychic abilities from his mother, it was only a matter of time before Read took up his calling. It was in the mid seventies, in Washington, D.C., that he stood in his apartment living room, quietly assessing his life. He was in a good place and felt he’d achieved what he’d been wanting. So, he went to the closet where the cards were, took them off the shelf, and this simple act started his spiritual and psychic journey, which, in some ways, changed his life quite drastically. Old friends fell away, new ones came in, and he grew in knowledge and experience. This process was not, by any means, an easy one for him to undertake. As a child, he’d spent much time alone in the North Carolina mountains living in his imagination. As he grew, he experienced various psychic phenomena, which he says didn’t frighten him (too much, that is). He’d always had an interest in the paranormal, but that fascination had begun to wane over the years, until he started studying the cards again. In the early eighties, he partnered with a very high level spiritual Medium. Through sessions with him, he met several spirit guides who are with him still. From them he learned much about the spirit world and psychic matters, and experienced some very interesting, and frightening experiences. The scary ones taught him the importance of watching what you say, think and feel at all times.

As far back as he could remember, Joshua observed halos and vibrant colors surrounding everyone.
